Pre-Session Infomation

Kevan Owen is an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a Higher Diploma in Psychotherapy from Nottingham Trent University, and is a Senior Accredited Member of the National Council of Psychotherapists and abides by the ethical standards of this body.

Integrative Counselling, as the name suggests, is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations. Rather, each person needs to be considered as a whole, and counselling techniques must be tailored to their individual needs and personal circumstances. https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/integrative-therapy.html

Confidentiality is an important aspect of any counselling relationship. Occasionally Kevan will have case supervision with a supervisor, where a broad outline of your case may be discussed as part of the supervisory process. In this event no identifying details will be revealed. At your first session Kevan will share with you the confidentiality statement and ask if you are happy with it.

Kevan uses various Outcome Measures in order to gauge your response to counselling. If you are happy to do so you will be asked to fill out some brief questionnaires before and after your sessions. These questionnaires help Kevan to understand your needs, your strengths and how best to help. With your permission annonimised data from the questionnaires will be transferred to a secure database to be used for service evaluation and research.
